No. 02 — The Process
A Soul Stand takes between eight and sixteen weeks from first conversation to delivery. We accept only a small number of commissions each season.
We begin with the instrument and the player — its voice, its weight, its place in your room.
Each commission is sketched by hand. Proportion, motif and timber are chosen for you.
Walnut, ebony or burr. Cut, joined and carved over weeks at the bench.
Hand-rubbed oils, brass detail, leather rests. Signed, numbered and delivered.

No. 03 — The Atelier
Our motifs are borrowed from old vanitas painting and the folklore of the working musician — memento mori for the body, song for the soul. Every carving is cut into the timber by the same hand that drew it.
